The HDC Foundation

The HDC Foundation’s main function is to provide funding in support of the programs and services offered by HDC. Community mental health services are increasingly underfunded because of severe budget cuts at the federal, state, and local levels. The agency is forced to do more with less every year.

In order to help with the funding uncertainties, the HDC board of directors voted to begin a foundation to help provide financial support for mental health services. The foundation officially became operational on January 1, 2008.

The new foundation board is beginning the process of building an endowment fund. The board expects to begin a major fundraising effort within the next twelve months.
