Psychiatric Registered Nurse – Full Time

Description:

 Assigned to the Assertive Community Treatment Team (with additional assignments in general clinic as needed) to provide nursing assessments, develop and execute nursing treatment plans, medication set-up and dispensing of medications, patient education, coordination of health and community services, and provide crisis evaluations and triage for adults living in the community with serious mental illness and related problems.  Assessment and management of general medical health is an integral part of the care to be provided.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: B.A. or A.A. degree in nursing with a current registration. Minimum of one-year experience as a psychiatric RN, knowledge of psychiatric systems and resources, ability to work well in teams and collaborate with other health care professionals. Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Minnesota.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience in: Community mental health; Assertive Community Treatment Teams; Addictions. The ideal candidate will also have significant knowledge and experience in one or more other areas of nursing including public health, pediatrics, geriatrics, clinic nursing, and med-surg.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). One to two years experience in an office setting performing a variety of duties. Excellent communication skills and the ability to appropriately assist persons who may be experiencing mental health problems who present at the front desk. Moderate typing skills, experience with Microsoft Office and general office equipment. Ability to work in a fast paced office environment, excellent customer skills, and able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines. Attention to detail is a must. Children’s Mental Health Case Manager/Children’s Therapeutic Services and Support Practitioner

Assist families in accessing necessary services to meet mental health issues of children ages 0-18.  Provide individual, group, and family skills training based on the treatment plan.  Goals of the program are to improve the functioning of children in home, in school and in the community.  Requires flexible scheduling and some evening work in order to meet with families in their homes.  Great opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, psychologists, and child psychiatry.

Provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and other groups including such activities as client diagnostic assessment, needs assessments, treatment planning, progress reporting and case review. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: DNP degree a plus. Ability to treat children and adults is desired, but not required. Previous work experience in a community mental health clinic or other psychiatric clinic setting and in primary care settings as a NP/CNS. Also, knowledge of addictions and experience working with adults as well as other age populations; knowledge of community psychiatric systems and resources. Minimum of five (5) year of experience as a psychiatric nurse.
