Billing Clerk, Emphasis General

Description:

Insurance and client billing: Preparing, reviewing, approving, and mailing CMS1500s/invoices to various insurance companies; reviewing, releasing and submitting electronic claims; reviewing and mailing client statements; processing and balancing insurance and client payments in the patient billing system. Other duties may include verifying eligibility, following up on overdue or denied insurance claims; following up on missing prior authorizations; responding to client phone calls with account questions, preparing other miscellaneous billings, recording receipts and preparing deposits, collecting on past due accounts; other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Moderate knowledge of health insurance plans; 1-3 years experience working with health insurance and an understanding of common health insurance terminology; high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months of related experience; typing 35 WPM, 10-key, good communication skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: One to 3 years experience, knowledge or related training of health insurance, experience working with the public, ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, ability to prioritize workload, knowledge of insurance and claims/billing, good communication skills. ARMHS Mental Health Practitioner – Carlton County

Children’s Mental Health Case Manager/Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports Practitioner

Homeless Program Supervisor -Full-Time

SUMMARY: Full time Homeless Program Supervisor position at HDC’s Homeless Program located in Duluth, Minnesota.  This position supervises the delivery of Homeless Program services, coordination, monitoring, grant writing and reporting, and supervision of approximately ten staff. This position is responsible for various homeless housing services grants – annual reporting and updates.

DUTIES: This person supervises a multi-disciplinary team who provides intensive case management, crisis intervention, mental health monitoring and support, housing, street outreach, ARMHS, Target Case Management, housing and supportive services for homeless and at risk individuals with mental illness and/or a dual diagnosis of MI and CD.  Must be able to effectively manage crisis situations, work independently, meet deadlines, communicate with individuals and groups, provide advocacy for clients, maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, police and corrections, and various community organizations providing services to homeless persons.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field and 2000 hours of supervised mental health experience. Requires experience with grant reporting, excellent documentation skills, advocacy and community involvement in housing and homeless issues, a valid driver’s license and the ability to transport clients in own car.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience serving diverse population. Experience working with homeless persons or those at risk of becoming homeless with mental illness and/or dual diagnosis of MI and CD. Experience with housing programs (Bridges, Shelter Plus Care, Public Housing) and funding sources (HUD, PATH, ARMHS, Target Case Management) preferred. Working knowledge of HMIS, MHIS, Co-Pilot, E-Snaps, and Service Point a plus. Must understand and embrace the principles based on the Housing First and Harm Reduction Models.
