| Description | The Human Development Center has an immediate opening for a Human Resource Internship. HDC is a large Community Mental Health Center in Northern Minnesota and has locations in two states (MN and WI) and five counties (Carlton, Cook, Douglas, Lake and St. Louis), with 280 employees located throughout.
PRIMARY DUTIES: Provide confidential human resource support as directed, post job listings, work with HR Generalist on benefit and salary projects as assigned as well as other duties.

| Description | DUTIES: Full time position at HDC’s Homeless Project: .75 as Case Manager for Giiwe Mobile Team to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing intensive case management, crisis intervention, mental health, housing, and supportive services for 8-10 individuals/youths/families who are long-term homeless or at significant risk of becoming long-term homeless, and have serious mental illness. The balance of the position is .25 ARMHS (Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services) services component, providing advocacy, skills teaching, and support to adults who are homeless or formerly homeless and have serious mental illness. Both job components require ability to effectively manage crisis situations, work independently and communicate with individuals and groups, provide advocacy for clients, maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, police and corrections, and various community organizations providing services to homeless persons.

| Qualifications | MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field and 2000 hours of supervised mental health experience or 6000 total hours of documented mental health experience. Requires excellent documentation skills, advocacy and community involvement in housing and homeless issues, a valid driver’s license and the ability to transport clients in own car, and grant reporting. Position may require working occasional Saturdays.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Cultural competence serving diverse population. Experience working with Native Americans and understanding of the unique issues and needs affecting them. Experience working with homeless persons and dealing with housing issues. Understanding of Housing First and Harm Reduction models of service delivery. The ideal candidate for this position is non-judgmental, outgoing, compassionate, and a team player.
