HDC Names New Medical Director
Promotion for Dr. Steve Bauer, MD

HDC announces the promotion of Dr. Steven Bauer, M.D. to Medical Director. Dr. Bauer is a graduate of University of MN Duluth medical school and completed his internship residency and fellowship in general adult psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic. He joined the Human Development Center in 1995 and provides care at HDC’s Duluth, Two Harbors, and Grand Marais offices, as well as consulting at several other programs in the region.

HDC Executive Director Jim Gruba commented, "HDC and the entire region are fortunate to have a psychiatrist of Dr. Bauer's caliber who serves both children and adults. We've been privileged to have him at HDC for a number of years and look forward to his leadership."

"It is an honor to work for an organization that is committed to helping our community members who struggle with both acute and chronic mental health issues. I will work hard to maintain the high standard set by Dr. Peter Miller, who held this position for the previous twenty five years.", said Dr. Bauer.
