The Duchess of Cambridge recently put her support behind a new campaign by the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families called You’re Never Too Young to Talk About Mental Health.
In the new campaign, the Duchess promotes giving children a way to talk about their own mental health and feelings they’re experiencing. The video following her introduction is an animation co-produced by children and their teachers. The school children narrate the video graphics about a story on a girl named Jay.
The program, to be rolled out this fall in schools across England, is accompanied by free teaching materials including flyers for parents, online resources, lesson plan for teachers, and more. Anna Freud hopes to teach young children how to discuss their feelings and how to reach out for help when needed the most. The new initiative comes just in time for World Mental Health Day is Tuesday, October 10th, 2017.
